I design, photograph, make, and teach.

I was born in Minnesota and have spent my life as a rolling stone, living in Oregon, Minnesota, Spain, Italy, Iowa, Washington, and Illinois. I received my MFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University, and my BA in Graphic Design from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, with a Minor in Media Communications. I am currently the Director of Visual Arts and an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Illinois Springfield and have previously held positions at Whitworth University and Iowa State University. I teach courses in Graphic Design and Digital Media, including introductory technology, print, typography, web, animation, digital and film photography, and professional skills. In addition to teaching, I am a freelance graphic designer, a member of DEMO Project (a former artist-run contemporary and alternative project gallery), and just finished a 4 year term as a Board Member at the Springfield Art Association.
